ABSTRACT
This investigation enlightens the taxonomical and ecological characteristics of poisonous animals distributed in Bursa Uludağ. The specimens were collected during in different years after 1990, where a survey of localities with ecological conditions are suitable for the growth of frogs, snakes and artropods. Of the determined vertebrates, 3 were frogs, 4 were snakes. We have determined invertebrates from two order, Arachnida and Insecta.

ABSTRACT
In mis work. the types of pollution that vehicles having spark ignition and diesel engines have been firstly defined and the effects of this pollution on living creatures have been made contact. Preseni ways of preventing every kind of air pollution caused by motor-vehicles have been separately explained and their specialities have been told. Especially the ways of preventing the pollution caused by spark ignition engines by catalytic converters and the pollution caused by diesel-engines by partide holder filters have been examined. In this scope the structure of catalytic converters and partide holder filters have been discussed.

ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to cvaluate the water quality and to determine the main pollutants in the streams of Belek area. For this purpose, 18 vvater samples were taken froın the area between September and October 1995. in water samples, analysis of pH. E.C., Na\ K, Ca*2, Mg*% CO3 2. HCO3, Cl, SO4 2. suspended solids (SS). BOD5, COD and total N were carried out. and SAR and Na percentages were calculated. The results showed that the main pollution centers tor the water streams of the area were settlement places, untreateated waste water from tourism centers and drainage waters of agricultural lands. The results of analysis showed that these waters can be used for irrigation but not for drinking. it was observed that the water purifying units separately built by estate cooperatives were not effective to prevent water pollution. Consequently, it is thought that it is necessary to build up waste water treatment units with high purifying capacity. The region where is a suitable geographic position to sale waters of the stream, give us possibility to improve water quality.

ABSTRACT
This study was implemented to determine some chemical and physical properties of processing tomato grown soils and qual-ity of ground water which is used in irrigation around Biga region. For this purpose, eighteen soil and eleven water samples were taken from processing tomato fields. According to results, examined soils were non-saline and contained inadequate levels of organic matter and lime. On the other hand total nitrogen contents of the soils and nitrate concentrations of some of the soils were found to be high related to application of excess amounts of nitrogen fertilizers. Available P, exchangeable K, Ca and Mg contents of the soils were adequate. There is not any problem regarding the contents of exchangeable sodium in the soils. pH of the irrigation water resources was around 8.0 by the analysis results. Three of the irrigation water resources were determined respectively unsuitable, inconvient and at the critical level according to water quality aspect. The rest of the irrigation water resources were suitable for irrigation.
