Air pollution, asa result of modern life, is essentially occurs by burning the solid, Hquid and gasfuels and comes from industrial production, transport and industrial studies to obtain heat and light. in thefirstpart of the study, air pollution concept as briefly defined. in the secondpart, causes of the air pollution were explained by considering the variables of the sour.ce part. in the third part, measurement methods of the air pollution were introduced with standards and protection of the air quality. in the fourth part, precautions and in thefifth part, results and evaluations were presented.

ABSTRACT
Buzluk Cave of Harput is astonishing because ice presence during whole summer in it. The cave is situated among Maastrichtian limestone blocks. Densely fractured limestones were parted to blocks along fracture planes and blocks were subjected gravity movements. The space among the blocks forms Buzluk Cave. Dissolution did not efect to the formation. The total depth of the cave 30 m. and the temperature changes are in reverse order with depth increase. The ice of Buzluk Cave is the remmant of snow and ice of winter season. Melting of this ice body is prevented by the slow evaporation of the moisture on the surfaces of the blocks.

ABSTRACT
In this study, insted of pasteurization with water vapeor, a cheaper and more easily applecable chemical method was performedfor the disinfection of the compost prepared with 2.5 kg wheat straw and 250 g lentil waste. With this respect, 2,3 and 4 g doses of Benlate were used along with l litre formaldehit of l % For control group, only l litre formaldehit solution of l % was used Experimental study was repeateol ten times. in the experimental study, as resultof extensive growth of moulds in the 10 repeats of the control grop, P. florida miscel were observed not to have grown. Any significant difference was not determined between the effect of 2,3 and 4 g doses of Benlate on growth phases. Miscel growht period was foundas 11.5 - 11.6 days, basidiocarp formation period as 25.4 - 27.7 days, thefirst harvest periods as 30.4 - 31.9 days, and total harvest period as 57.2 - 57.8 days. For 1 kg humid compost, the highest yield amount was obtained as 232.9 g in 3 dose, while the lowest as 171.5 g in 4 g dose.

in this study, Umbilicaria crustululosa (Ach.)Frey have been tesbet in resbect of their antimikrobiyel activities againts different test organisms by the steril paper dişe method. As a result ofstudy, wefound taht Umbilicaria crustulosa (Ach.) Frey revealed antimicrobiyel activities againts some bacteria especially Mycobacterium smegmatis CCM 2067 and Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 12228, but had no antifungal activity againts fungi used in this study.

Nuclear power produces electricity in an environmentally-friendly way, specifcally vvithout producing carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas), sülfür dioxide and nitroğen oxides which cause acid rain. Some anti-nuclear grops have tred to ignore the benefit whic the world could have from nuclear power while these are restraining the use of CO2 - emittingfossilfuels. This article explains the benefites of nuclear power comparing with the other power sources.

On the Sakarya River which is one of the importants rivers of Turkey, has been determined innumerous living kinds of algae in the samples taken from the part where polluted water such as Ankara brook and Porsuk brook mixed with the Sakarya River. it has also been found out that there are indicator algae types that are tolerant to pollution in the Sakarya River by forming relationship between these algae and physical and chemical qualities of the water.
