ABSTRACT
In this study, ethyl acetate, acetone, chloroform and ethanol of Vitex agnus-castus L. were tested for antimicrobial activity by Disc Diffusion method on some Gram (+) bacteria (Listeria monocytogenes, Bacillus cereus, B. subtilis, B. brevis, B. sphaericus, B. megaterium, Sarcina lutea, Micrococcus luteus, M. flavus, M. roseus, Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis, ve Corynebacterium glutamicum, Corynebacterium xerosis), some Gram (-) bacteria (Aeromonas hydrophila, Proteus vulgaris, Serratia marcescens, Alcaligenes feacalis, A. eutrophus, Salmonella parathyphi S. thyphi, S. thyphimurium, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Citrobacter freundii, Bordatella bronchiseptica, Erwinia amylovora, Pseudomonas fluorescens, P. aeruginosa, P. extorquens, P. putida ve Xanthomonas campestris), asit-fast bacterium Mycobacterium smegmatis and some yeast cultures (Kluyveromyces fragilis, Candida albicans, C. utilis, Hansenula sp., Rhodotorula rubra, Debaryomyces sp., Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Schizosaccharomyces sp., Torulopsis sp. Ve Torula sp.). As a results of study, we have found that Vitex agnus-castus L. extracts revealed antimicrobial activity against some Gram (+) bacteria, but it had no antimicrobial activity against Gram (-) bacteria and yeasts used in this study.

ABSTRACT
With this study, it was aimed to cultivation of Pleurotus florida Jacq. ex Fr.Kumm. on lignocellulosic materials which are highly potential and no reuse in other means. It was found that using substrates in mixtures with different ratio had better effects on the yield P. florida than they were used as a single phase. The basic mixtures studied were linden leaves (Tilia) , poplar leaves (Populus), wood waste, and needle (Pinus). Also we used some secondary substrates such as wheat straw, bran, grass and waste paper. Wood waste+ grass (50+50) (1:1 weight basis) mixture showed the highest yield (%79.1 wt. in wet substrate weight).

ABSTRACT
In this work, morphological and ecotoxicological effects of Porsuk stream waters on some agricultural plants (Triticum aestivum L., Triticum durum Desf., Hordeum vulgare L., Cicer arietinum L., Phaseolus vulgaris L.) and heavy metal contents of these plants (Fe, Zn, Cd, Ni, Pb ve Cr) originating from water were investigated. Growth and germination rates of the experimental plant samples were observed quite higher than control plants in first 16 days. Heavy metal accumulation (Ni and Cr ) on T. aestivum and P. vulgaris were observed quite higher than control plants. In addition, clastogenic and genotoxicological effect of Porsuk stream water on root tip cells Allium cepa L. Were investigated and potential of micronucleus constitution were determined.

ABSTRACT
In this study, SO2 and NOx concentrations were measured daily during the period of November 1995- March 1996 when fuel combustion was at maximum level. Pollution maps were generated by using "Kriging Spatial Interpolation Method" according to the six regions and SO2 and NOx concentrations. Pollution level were determined for SO2 and NOx ranged from approximately 19-331 mg/m3, and 18-246 mg/m3, respectively. It was observed that pollution level was higher in Heykel, Yýldýrým and Altýparmak where population and traffic are dense.

ABSTRACT
Air pollution levels in terms of SO2 and particle material parameters were studied in Çanakkale town centre and the results were evaluted. During 1991-1992 winter-period SO2 and PM measurements, as monthly maxima and winter-period mean values, were the highest. The levels declined in the following period until 1993-1994 winter-period when PM level increased again. During 1996-1997 winter-period SO2 levels have increased and reached the highest levels measured during the ten years period.

ABSTRACT
This study designed to possibilities alternative activator and some secondary casing materials for cultivation of Agaricus bisporus (Lange) Sing. Results revealed that all the organic ingredients used in compost formulations composted well with in 15 days of outdoor composting and after composting, the compost temperature was the 32°C. The highest yield of (522.6 kg/per tone) was recorded by wheat straw mixed with pigeon manure with the peat as casing material mixed with perlite (70:30 in volume). Also, turf of Yeniçaða mixed with different ratio secondary casing materials had highly increeased yield properties of Agaricus bisporus.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the species of trees and ages of seedlings and types appropriate for the reforestation of burned forest areas. The results of the study showed that the trees species, age, bare-rootedness or being poted seedling had no effect on the rate of the seedlings taking root. Poted Cedrus libani seedlings show better development than bare rooted seedling Cedrus libani in terms of diameter, shoots and overall height. In terms of diameter and shoots, poted stock Pinus nigra ssp. pallasiana seedlings showed a significantly greater development than bare-rooted Pinus nigra ssp. pallasiana, although no difference was found in terms of overall height. Between Robinia pseudocacia and Ailanthus altissima seedlings no difference was found in daimeter, shoot and overall height development.
